Human Torch is fully flamed on and has his lovely black lines that used to work well in the comics. Cast in translucent plastic that goes from red at the toes to almost yellow at the tips, the fire effect works well enough. He isn't articulated at all and just feels way too bulky to me. I think of Johnny as being younger, leaner like Spider-Man, this one feels more like a Thor. All in all, I'm not too excited by this figure at all. C
Silver Surfer is painted silver and has a more serious expression. He's articulated at the arms only, but comes apart from his board. Silver Surfer looks good, it's his board I have trouble with. The board, while being detachable is a great uses different pegs than THE REST OF THE LINE. So only this figure can ride it! Laaaaaaaaaame. On top of that, the board has a "cloud" base that looks absolutely awful. This figure could have been awesome, but instead it feels like a failure to me. C-
Overall, this is basically a redo of the wave 3 pack, which I didn't think was needed. If you own these figures, you own better versions. Unless you only own CP1 Human Torch.

Is this Torch supposed to be Johnny though? He looks more like the original Jim Hammond Torch to me...eyes aside, that is. In any event, that's who he'll be in my display, going alongside the Invaders:p

He has clearly sculpted boots and gloves... and the packaging makes him look like Johnny.
If he's the original Human Torch, then that's just awesome.

I was VERY disappointed with this set. I wanted a Torch that looked like this but it was just executed poorly. Way too chunky!
Surfer is okay. Not an improvement on the original or the chrome version in the TRU set.

Human Torch Human Torch is awesome. Even though he has no articaltion. He has a more serious look on his face. The flames also look so cool. A Silver Surfer Even though Silver Surfer is the only one that can ride his board. Which makes sense because it is his board. I still think he is awesome. He has a more serious look on his face. But what up with the cloud. A Note: Both figures are great overall. If you have this 2-pack you own awesome versions of these figures. A complete redo of the Wave 3 2-pack.

It’s kind of weird that these two figures have come together before, but this time both of them are brand new. Neither of them are the best versions of either character, but they’re fine stand-ins. But I’ll do anything to justify buying the same pack twice, so counting one of them as an obscure Timely Comics hero is fine by me. Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=6548
