This. Because I completely disagree.
Character-wise, this was my absolute favorite 2-pack from Wave 3, if not the entire line. One of the only 2-packs that consisted of secondary characters (and no army builders) with maybe the exception of Bazooka/FireFly. This is the Thanos/Mar-Vell of Combat Heroes.
I found the sculpts well done, and as for paint apps and such, ill have to double check mine later, but I didnt notice any major flaws.
I guess u have to be a Joe fanboy as u said to really appreciate it.

Oh I agree that without having any connection to the characters, I just didn't care. Growing up I didn't really watch the cartoon and only had a few of the toys.
But the quality of my Lady Jaye was really disappointing, I'll post more pics later of just how green the backs of her arms really are and how lopsided her face actually is.
Major Bludd wasn't anything terribly exciting for me either. Quality-wise, he was much better. But to me, he's just another bad guy to fill out the ranks, he's not another character. I'm sure that people with a strong tie regarding G.I. Joes will feel differently but looking at them strictly as toys with no attachment to the characters, I think these are the least exciting figures in the wave, but Gung Ho was hands down the biggest disappointment.

Alright, no review today but I have something else. A variant has been discovered in the Adventure Heroes line that, to me, goes from "we slightly changed production" to "we changed his ethnicity." Am I digging at something where there isn't an issue or is this something more? Please check it out for both picks of the Cairo Swordsman and let me know what you think. jestergoblin.com/?p=1626

Im with u on this 1 jester. Its just dumb. So is it that political correctness has gone crazy in the US (it has), OR, do they think people are less likely to buy a dark skinned character (maybe?)? It really could be either - or a combination of both. But to both of those reason I say BOOOOO!

I used to work in Toys R Us, so I know to a point, parents dislike buying toys that are of different skintones than their own. I worked almost exclusively in the action & adventure area but occasionally had to help out in other sections of the store during the holidays. I distinctly remember an exchange with a parent:
Mother: "Do you have any of [some doll]?" Me: "I believe so, just follow me and I'll show you them." I then brought her to a giant display of the dolls, most have been close to 50 of them there. But note, I grew up in Maine, the whitest state in the nation by percentage. All of the remaining dolls were black or Hispanic. Mother: "Do you have any other ones?" Me: "No ma'am, it's four days before Christmas. What we have on the floor is what we have in stock." Mother: "But all these ones aren't white."
At least she was classy about it. Many angrier (and possibly drunk) parents would often yell that they weren't buying their daughter some "f****** n***** doll." It was always fun to call the cops to get them removed.
But I never encountered a parent unwilling to buy their son a toy because of the toy's ethnicity.
But what really bothers me is that Adventure Heroes are designed to be sold to young children. It's like Hasbro is afraid of selling a Middle Eastern figure to little kids. Imagine if in the Brave and the Bold line that Black Lightning had become white. Or is it because he was a bad guy?

A blast from the past is today's review: Z-BOTS! More specifically, the ones that Burger King gave away 17 years ago. Check out the full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=1665These are some of the best Kids Meal toys ever given away. I loved these guys. Now why won't Hasbro do the same?

Batman the Brave and the Bold Action League Arch Rivals 6-Pack Toys R Us ExclusiveFull review: jestergoblin.com/?p=1438This is interesting because 5 of the figures are repacks while only one is a variant. For collectors unsure if they should track this down, I say don't bother. Gentleman Ghost isn't worth the price of admission. But for kids and collectors getting into the line, this is a great set that has high playability and is a solid representation of what this line is.

Batman the Brave and the Bold Action League Wave 4 - Black Lightning & Wildcat Full reivew: jestergoblin.com/?p=1815Black Lightning is great, really, really great. Possibly my favorite Action League figure yet. Wildcat pales in comparison, but he's still very well done.

Marvel Super Hero Squad 4-Pack Review: Super Hero Secret Wars Unreleased in the states, this is one of those packs that has almost reached the legendary status of Kraven, City in Crisis and the Winter Soldier Saga. If you’re a big fan of Secret Wars, you’d probably love this set but it’s near impossible to find. While Captain America and Hawkeye are both decent repaints, Spider-Man is just far too big. And at the end, the Wrecker is only okay. Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=2046

Marvel Super Hero Squad - The Secret Invasion Begins Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=2059This is a solid 4 pack for two major reasons, three of the four figures are new and all four work very, very well from a storyline standpoint. Iron Man is a repack, while astral Dr. Strange is a neat display of his powers. Mr. Fantastic is in his modern uniform while the Skrull Soldier looks fantastic (except for his smile). And for those of you who complain about repacks and variants, this time they're all skrulls. But the real impressive part is that Hasbro originally planned on releasing this in 2008 - the same year as when Secret Invasion occurred!

Didn't this 4-pack come out before the Doom castle? If so, I think IM would be a re-paint, not a re-pack with the only difference being the eyes. Where did you lay your hands on these sets JG?

That's a different Iron Man. The one in Doom's Castle came was originally released in the Mandarin 4-pack, and then repainted and packed with Spider-Woman. Doom's Castle Iron Man Avengers Super City Playset Iron Man This Iron Man is a repaint of Wave 1, but is a repack of the Avengers Super City Playset Iron Man. The Secret Invasion Begins Iron Man Original Wave 1 Iron Man As for when these were released, the last few months they started showing up in Europe. A member over at the Rumor Buster helped us out and grabbed several sets for a few people over there.

This two-pack is pretty satisfying as a whole. Trixie works great as either a character or just as a generic dinosaur toy. Sure, as a generic cartoony dinosaur the price point may be a little too high especially since the character’s design is so basic. As for Woody, he’s a great version of the sheriff but I don’t see how Mattel is going to be able to get many poses out of him without him falling victim to the balancing toy gods. This pack meant I basically paid $8 for a Stormtrooper. It’s absurd since I could get an actual Stormtrooper for the same amount! Vader isn’t bad; he’s just a chunky relic of the past. The Stormtrooper is decent but could become so much better with a few minor tweaks. I know some Galactic Heroes collectors like the standardized look but I prefer stuff that’s unique and different. If you don’t own a Vader and want these two characters, it’s a perfectly serviceable pack. But for me, it’s just a letdown. Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=2586
