Who wants to bet the Destro is going to have a flat paint app on his head and the chrome version will be an exclusive or special available only in a repaint set?

I don't know how much credence I give that BBTS date. Series 1 wasn't supposed to be out until 2009, and as of two days ago, they were still listed as "coming soon" on HasbroToyShop, with no expected shipping date listed.
But boy, how awesome would it be if both sets saw wide release by the end of 2008?

However the plan changed and they decided to launch in Early Fall of 2008.

I don't think we'll see it nearly as much as you do in the G.I. Joe figure line.
The Heroes lines are typically 0-4 Points of Articulation. So sculpting a new figure and having it produced isn't nearly as time consuming or expensive a process as the figure lines they spawn from. So you'll likely see new sculpts with the occassional repaint here and there instead. Much like with Galactic Heroes, Robot Heroes, and Super Hero Squad.

but so many GIJoe characters wear the same thing, i mean, they are in uniforms.
Plus, Combat Heroes are 16% more expensive on average than the current lines. I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro is trying to cut costs more. I mean, they cost more and there aren't even licensing fees, as there are with Indiana Jones, Marvel and Star Wars.
I think we're seeing a shift in the toy industry.

I think we're seeing a shift in the toy industry. Yes, but the uniforms on the whole are fairly unique. They're not 16% more expensive than the current lines. You're trying to compare two different types of things. You get 2 figures in the Combat Heroes line, and Hasbro cuts cost by not having to super-articulate the figures. Since again, they only have 0-4 points of articulation on average. So kitbashing and such isn't likely to occur in the line all that much.

Series 1 wasn't supposed to be out until 2009, and as of two days ago, they were still listed as "coming soon" on HasbroToyShop, with no expected shipping date listed. I have always preordered any Superhero Squad, Galactic Heroes, Adventure Heroes, Robot Heroes and now Combat Heroes from BBTS. They have always been pretty accurate in their release schedule. I'd say within a couple weeks of stated release. They have almost always received their initial shipments of wave WAY before Hasbrotoyshop. Just using a current example: Robot Heroes wave 2 with Arcee etc...just arrived to BBTS yesterday. Hasbrotoyshop isn't shipping them out until 10/27 as seen on their website. Oh by the way BBTS Wave 2 also includes Ironhide and Perceptor neither are listed on HTS. So yeah I would trust BBTS release dates before HTS. As Beast said hasbro has already said they stepped up the timetable to release the Combat Heroes (thank god...I'm dying waiting for these) to get them out for the holidays. So Wave 1 should be any week now. I'm thinking 1st or 2nd week in October. Wave 2 for Christmas!

Combat Heroes have a MSRP of 6.99, SHS is still 5.99, same with Adventure Heroes and Robot Heroes. That's a 16% increase. Galactic Heroes has a MSRP of 6.99.
As a non-licensed line, it seems very odd for the price increase. Seeing as all approval is in-house.
COGS have gone up the last few years, but it is odd that this line has a price increase. It may because they are targeting a different demographic. Baroness appeals to a much different group than Spider-Man or Darth Vader. Even Cobra Commander lacks the "iconic" status of those other characters. This could easily be a collector-focused line.

For some reason I am ok with the initial lines being a "collector" targeted line. I can see them releasing most of the "iconic" G.I. Joe figures in series 1,2, and 3. Then Wave 4 could be a re-vamped series to tie in with the movie being released. Plus, on a side note, I am really looking forward to wave 1 releasing in a few weeks (or at least I hope it is a few weeks only).

HTS had wave 1 up with a coming soon earlier. Now they're gone. The price was 6.99.
