Received this from BBTS in regards to Wave 4 of the Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs:
"Hasbro has just informed us that this item has been cancelled and will not be produced. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have cancelled all preorders and removed the item from our site. "

It was bound to be a pretty shallow series anyways. I can't see them producing many Nazi's, and the cast of characters isn't as big as Marve/ Star Wars/ etc . . .

I knew this would happen. I always see the first line at target, and the Hasbro site still has them, they just aren't selling. The new movie wasn't a huge success, and without that, most young kids don't know anything about the line, and ROTLA, TOD or TLC.

That might have been one of the most inaccurate statements ever posted on these boards. As much as I hated the new Indy movie, it still did very, very well in theaters. Tied essentially with Iron Man, it is the second biggest grosser this year, almost $100 million more than Wall-E. It just passed Lord of the Rings and Star Wars Episode 2 to move into 23rd place all-time. It should pass Harry Potter soon in total gross.

That pretty much seems to be true of the Indy line overall. The Hasbro Q&As have not been very favorable for new product next year. But like others haev said, I'm not surprised.

Seems it was out of the theaters fairly quick. Also, I think they should add in production costs against box office gross when tallying how well it did domestically. It cost $185 million to make, grossed just over $316 million domestic=$131 million domestic gain. But anyway, they certainly made their money back and then some, especially with the world market. Thanks for the heads up.

One thing though, according to Wikipedia, the Lord of the Rings movies are ranked #2 (second behind Titanic for Return Of The King), #8 and #15. Crystal Skull is 25th, still hugely sucessful, but not ahead of the LOTR movies. Of course, I'm looking at worldwide gross, and you might have meant domestic.

Shame to hear the news, but as others have said it is unsurprising. My local stores still have them, and are trying to shift older Star Wars waves as well.
