Wolverine Ignoring the fact that Wolverine will become one of the line's poster children on repaints, this Wolverine figure is poor. His claws look like rods coming out of his knuckles, his hunched back and bow-legged stance don't work. His face looks too chubby and the smug mouth doesn't reach his eyes. His costume doesn't seem to be from any actual time either. The figure stands on it own. D
Sabretooth The biggest downside here is his stance. While I loved Hawkeye's more dynamic pose, I think Sabretooth takes it too far. He's limited to really only one stance. A decent effort at making a more dynamic figure, but it doesn't work for me. D

Wolverine: I don't care for this figure, and dissapointingly it has been repainted a few times. The mask is weird for Wolverine, and the face sculpt doesn't mesh with the pose. The pose seems a little unnatural, and his claws look weird. One positive is the way his arms are shaped actually moving them makes a difference. If he had trouble standing this figure would be a total failure.
Figure Grade: D (Well Below Average)
Sabretooth: This figure is good overall except his one-trick pony of a pose. The pose you see in the promo pictures is the only one there is. His costume is fine, but nothing to get excited over. Overall I would prefer a new Sabretooth, but this one does the job for now.
Figure Grade: C+ (Slightly Above Average)
Overall Grade: D (Definately the weakest pack this wave)

This is one of the weakest, most boring Wolverine figures. His arms are generically splayed out. His boots aren't flared at the top like most other Wolv figures; instead they look like flat, heavy moonboots. The overall impression is of a slow, dimwitted thug rather than a vicious, agile warrior. D.
Sabretooth gets an A for effort and a C for execution and result. It's great that Hasbro dared to be interesting, even with wave 1, but Sabretooth only has about one pose, and he has a hard time even nailing that smoothly. Otherwise, the rest of the details are well done. The pose does a good job of exaggerating his upper body. B-.

Wolverine is an awful figure, probably in my top 5 least favorites of all Heroes that have been released. Sabretooth tries to be different but fails. This pack isn't worth the hassle of tracking down, plus both figures have been rereleased multiple times. Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=1924
