Why does almost every character in a 2-pack seem to be packaged along with Spider-man???
I can see it as a marketing ploy to bring in new customers who have an interest as a result of one of the movies, but let's be real: how many little kids are actually buying the SHS??? I think the majority of the sales are to adult collectors, and we sure don't need any more Spider-man figures! (Unless its in a different costume)
For example, consider how popular and sought-after Gambit & Rogue 2-pack is, even without being packaged with Wolverine.
And how are the decisions made of who to package together? Some of them are very logical (Black Panther & Storm, who are married), but some make me wonder (Spider-man & Ultron??? -- wouldn't Ultron be better packaged with an Avenger?)
Come on! Take a chance! Give us a Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch 2-pack!

We may be the vast majority on a forum like this, but out in the actual Toy aisles of the world it's a completely different story. That said, I do think flooding the market with slight variations of one single character is a bad long-term strategy for them, if only because once kids get Spidey in one pack, they likely won't want to get more of the same if they come back for seconds.

yeah I agree with Cash. Probably only like 10% of sales are from collectors. Even that number may be a bit high. Kids and parents are the ones who make the purchases and if they see a character they recognize, (spidey, cap, wolverine, iron man, hulk, etc.) then they are more likely to buy the product.

In marketing, there is the 80-20 rule, that says 80% of all purchases are done by 20% of your customers. The collector market for this line is no where near 20% of the market place, especially in comparison to other more collector focused lines, like Marvel Legends. People like me account for a large amount of sales, but we're a low number of the total customer base.
As for why repack Spideys, Wolverines and Hulks? They sell much, much better than other figures to the mass market. A parent is much more likely to buy a pack with Spider-Man over a pack without him unless specifically asked.
As for adult collectors, they know you'll buy them.

Collectors make up a very small percentage of the total market for a line like this, but they buy in sufficient quantities to account for a sizable percentage of total sales for the line as a whole - My guess: Maybe a third of sales at best.

I'd like to know if we're going to see any new Teams in the near future (by new I mean not teams that are just being expanded upon, i.e. X-men, Fantastic Four, Avengers) such as Alpha Flight, Post Civil War Thunderbolts, the Wrecking Crew, etc?

i agree on the over-ratio of Spideys, but i think we'been lucky until now: with SHS in few years Hasbro translated almost all the most important Marvel character in a single format/scale. Its a thing that really never occurred before in the toy industry. The large marvel lines from Toy Biz in the '90 took years to bring such an amount of characters in plastic. Now if only Kingpin, the Maximoff brothers, Toad would be released, i'll be pretty satisfied.

Here's some questions:
If they're not releasing larger-scale mega figures anymore, will they be integrating larger-scale SHS figures in box-sets like the Galactic Heroes (i.e. Rancor Pit with Rancor, Jabba's Palace with Jabba, etc.)
Additionally, considering they are re-releasing Vulture in an upcoming wave, which was originally very hard to find in stores, has there been talk of re-packaging Kraven the Hunter in a future wave. Nobody had a chance at snagging a Kraven.
We've seen alot of characters that were packaged in the movie-based SHS Spiderman line that were revisited as comic-versions later down the line (i.e. Spiderman with black lines as opposed to silver, Doc Ock, Venom, Sandman, and Green Goblin.) Will we see a comic-version of Scorpion anytime soon? As a fan of the character, I don't particularly identify with the costume-choice from the Spidey SHS movie line.
Thanks!

That horrible looking Scorpion suit actually IS from the comics.* Gargan got it from Norman Osborne shortly before he became the new Venom. I'd really like to have a classic Scorpion as well, though.
*See Marvel Knights Spider-Man #9

I've got one, and I apologize if this has already been addressed, but here goes:
"Who is the jackass that runs your website? I'm talking about Hasbro.com, The toyshop website I understand is restricted to displaying inventory, but the Hasbro website SHOULD be the definitive place to go for SHS product information, not Wikipedia. And all last month a search for SHS would result in giving me the Wolverine Origins toyline. And the Toyshop website isn't much better. A search for "superhero squad" returned ONE result. I'm sorry, but I thought you guys were trying to actually SELL toys on this website."
Thanks, that's been bottled up for a while.
