Cyclops is in his second version of his costume, designed by Jean Grey and debut in X-Men 27. Scott is sporting four POA: arms, neck, waist. He's doing the point and hand out pose, which works well enough but I'm getting tired of this pose for Scott. He's a tad top heavy and leans forward. Still, I love this version of his costume and it is an excellent representation. B+
Marvel Girl is a mixed bag. The very few I've seen have her hair poorly placed, resulting in a GIANT forehead and a receding hairline. A boil and scalp worked to fix the issue (hell, the glue holding her hair on hadn't fully dried). Rachel's sporting articulation at the arms. Her costume is accurate but it is missing the mask it should have during her time with Uncanny X-Men starting at issue #444. The stance is a little off but the representation of her telekenesis works well enough. A solid figure, but the hair and balance issues prevent her from being great. C+
Note: I love that Cyclops and Marvel Girl got packaged together.

But would you love it more if it was the Jean Grey Marvel Girl that would actually go with this Cyclops? I know I would.

If you place this Cyclops next to the Jim Lee version, a lot of nice touches are noticeable. This Cyclops is quite skinny compared to the JL version and the blue is a darker shade. If you flip through the classic X-men comics, you'll notice that 70s/80s Cyclops was indeed a lot skinnier (aka SLIM) than the hunky, buff JL Cyclops of the 90s. I'd give the figure an A if the paint job weren't so lousy. I never was able to find a decently painted visor, and it's very obvious that the gloves were sloppily painted over the dark blue. B+.
I was lucky enough to snag a Rachel with a good hairpiece, but I must admit that I am not familiar with this costume. Having said that, I can't think of a good, classic, unique Rachel costume that I'd rather see. Rachel has articulation in both arms, but her head is huge and her instability is made worse by her angled foot. Like others, I would have much preferred a classic Jean Grey Marvel Girl in this pack. C+.

This is a first for the Super Hero Squad by including a father and daughter pairing, sure they may be from different timelines but packing together a Phoenix/Marvel Girl with a Cyclops is a no-brainer. I do wish quality control had been better on Marvel Girl, but Cyclops looks absolutely fantastic. Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=5502
