Steel Brigade of the Hisstank.com boards had this explanation for the order cancellation (delay?) of some of the 25th vehicles, maybe this could apply to Wave 3: It was strongly rumoured that the aforementioned vehicles have been delayed so that retailers did not under order them because of the post x-mas season, in favor of better quantity ordering later in the 1st quarter. There may also be a reaasortment from what was originally listed. This sometimes happens with Star Wars as well. www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-real-american-hero-modern-toys/29222-when-zap-new-flak-stinger-sets-coming-out.html

I wouldn't panic about this. I'm really doubting that they gonna be cancelling entire waves of GI Joe stuff this year considering how much money they're gonna make on it with the Movie coming out.

No, you'd need more exclamation points to sound panicky. :-D
But I agree with bert, with the movie coming out there's now way Hasbro is going to drop these. Though given how the retail season went, I can understand why they would be slowing down their releases.

I'm really hoping that these guys aren't cancelled. I'm quite the fan of the ones I have already. I don't collect the Star Wars or Marvel lines, only the Transformers, and I really enjoy how much different the Joes are from the Robot Heroes.

And they shouldn't hit the same post-movie problem like Indy line did. Since Joe has been around for a long time without needing to have a cartoon or movie around to support it.

Wave 1 and 2 sold like crazy. So I really doubt there going to cancel the entrie line of Combat Heroes. They might even release Wave 3 after the second GI Joe Movie which is supposed to hit theaters during the year of 2012. They should release the canceled/rumored waves 4 and 5 also after the movie ends. Heck they might even release some Combat Heroes for the new GI Joe movie.

Wave 3 was released in Canada. I have some of them moc for sale if interested. The lines sold well but not as well as you may think. many of the arah and oc waves are shelf warming consignment stores like ross, tj maxx, and marshalls. Don't get your hopes up for anything new.

The simple fact that ALL Combat Heroes figures (besides the oddly released wave 3 of RAH) ended up in discount retailers like TJ Maxx and Marshals says they didn't sell nearly well enough. Remember, CH were only $5-6 a pack while SHS and GH were getting $8 a pack.
Cost-wise, CH were more expensive to produce than GH or SHS because all the figures were brand new: no repacking, no repainting, just a lot of new sculpts (which means new molds). The licensing costs of Marvel and Star Wars is not enough to command a $3 price increase. Hasbro started taking a cut on CH very early and it just didn't work out.
Yes, the line may return with the new movie but as it stands, this line is dead.

The reason SHS and GH are more expensive is because hasbro has to pay for the rights to those properties. Hasbro owns Transformers and GI Joe so they can sell them for less and still make more of a profit since they don't have to pay contractually to the actual owners.
