Read the X-Men Legacy comic yesterday and couldn't believe what they had done....
She is cured and now can touch others and choose whether or not to absorb their powers or memories.

I stopped reading X-men comics after Messiah Complex and the whole baby thing (who was Jean right?). I found it too hard too follow, too expensive to buy all the comics, and I just got fed up with dumb plots.
THIS may be the dumbest thing ever! The whole point of Rogue's character is that the is always on edge and overly cautious not to touch others becasue of the consequences. Eliminating this aspect of her character is like taking Wolverine's claws away. Its just not her.

See, but she also lost her flight etc. She now has control over one fairly weak power. Seeing her adjust to using that is going to be a good story.

I'm actually enjoying the new direction that this has allowed for Rogue's character to move in. Currently, it seems like she is a mentor for the students (formerly New X-Men pre Messiah Complex). This makes a lot of sense since she has exhibited the ability to absorb and use someone's powers better than the person she took them from.
On the other side, it's kind of funny that Carey had her lead the "away team" back in Supernovas, but now she is teaching staff again.
