Two unarticulated figures that were barely in the movies seem like an odd pairing, but it goes to show that Hasbro knows this line goes beyond kids. While I don’t care about Nien Nunb, I’m sure someone out there will. As for Ackbar, I’m sure in a few days my coworkers will be fed up with me throwing him over cubicle walls while yelling, “IT’S A TRAP!” Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=4571

Again this is where we differ: I LOVE that Galactic Heroes usually sticks to the original style. Altho, they dont always. I dont need dynamic poses, Id rather them all look uniform. And I dont need articulation - theyre not action figures. Theyre like the old school PVC figs or Smurfs. Given that these 2 stick to that, and that I LOVE these characters (especially Nien Nunb), this may just be my fav GH 2-pack!

Hahaha, I know you do 7th. I think the big issue here for me is the sheer lack of playability. Getting a figure with a gun that can't be aimed seems kind of weird to me. Plus these figures retail for $8 a two-pack which is absurd that these little guys are $4 a piece! I'm just not getting the value out of them that you are.
I absolutely LOVED the new version of Boba Fett, but I can't stand the version of Jango Fett that I have - even though they're almost identical sculpts! I don't need a lot of articulation, but an extra point goes a long way.
At the end of the day, I'd rather have a bunch of figures that look different instead a bunch of them that look the same.

Jester: I can understand abt playability. But growing up with figs like the Marvel PVC figs, Smurfs and even the D&D monsters, all which had NO articulation, I learned to use my imagination. Not to mention, Im not really playing with them @ this age - just displaying them. (And FYI the toys I just mentioned were also not cheap.) I can sympathize tho abt having a gun that cant be aimed - seems silly. The difference between our solutions tho is mine is eliminate the gun, rather than add articulation. I collected this line cuz it was a 3yr kids line. That = chibi lookin figs with cheesy happy grins and no articulation. Make them more like traditional action figs and youre changing the line a bit much for me. Schoolhater: Seems like we're the tiny minority.

Ahh, see I grew up with Ninja Turtles, Transformers and G.I. Joe so I expect higher levels of articulation (part of why I think Storm Shadow is the best Heroes-style figure ever released). What really bothers me about many of the Galactic Heroes though is the boring, generic pose so many of them have. The fact that Stormtroopers and characters like Nien Nunb are all aiming their guns off to the side just feels weird and hurts the figures overall.
The most recent Stormtrooper is a fine figure and he barely moves! But in the case of this pack, I just don't think it's worth the price and I try to make sure that my reviews go beyond seeing them just as collectibles. If a figure is a bad toy, I'm going to say so.
