So who's seen it so far? I saw it today.
It wasn't bad. I have a feeling a lot of folks will enjoy it, especially kids.
But because I've gotten so into the comics over the past year, it was bound to disappoint me. The comics were (and still are) fantastic.
I can't help but get the feeling that if I hadn't read any of the comics, then I might have enjoyed it much more than I did. To me, there was something about Duke, Baroness, & Cobra Commander that was just off.
Seeing Snake Eyes kick ass was a lot of fun though. And a sequel could be much better.

Taking my boys to see it in the morning. I have a feeling I'll feel the same way. Though I was a bigger cartoon fan than I was of the comics, I wish they would have been more faithful to the comics, they fleshed things out much more (I'm just a cartoon junkie). I'll probably like it but there will be a bunch of stuff that bothers me that if would have been done properly would increase my enjoyment quite a bit. We'll see...

Part of what got my hopes up the month before its release was one of the producers saying in an interview that they really stuck to the comics for their inspiration & mythos. But the Movie looks much more like the cartoon brought to life than anything else...

I've never read the comics or seen the cartoon, and I loved this movie. I don't care if the reviews are putting it down. I liked this one as much as the first Transformers film, if not better. But I pretty much knew some of the basic Joe stuff so some of it I knew could have been better.

Duke was a little too hip-hop for me. ***SPOILER:*** Baroness essentially being good (just brainwashed) bothered me. She is supposed to be the epitome of the sexy, badass, evil bitch. Snake Eyes' vow of silence bothered me too. In every other continuity, he's lost his ability to speak & is horribly disfigured. Hope they get rid of his mask's lips next time around.
And the nanomite injections reminded me WAY too much of the mind-control injections from the X-Men 2 movie. But again, I have hope the sequel(s) will be much improved.

I actually think I liked this more than Transformers 2, and I thought that was pretty awesome. But anyway this movie had everything, ninja fights, a cat fight, and lots of explosions. And I do agree about Duke porter, I really don't think Tatum can act but that's just me. It's not an Oscar winner or even one of the best movies of the year, but it's definately worth seeing if you're on the fence about it.

Saw it last night. Here's my review, so to speak:
If the GI Joe movie were an icy treat, it would be a turdcicle.

That was hysterical jester. I wish the movie was more of that.
Chuck Liddell as Gung Ho FTW!

Haha yeah, I'm hoping he hasn't gotten that out of shape this soon after "retiring".

I did enjoy G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra, but I wish it had more of a Jason Bourne quality to it. I still want a movie cartoon Hasbro crossover between G. I. Joe and Transformers using the Transformers Headmaster concept.
