OMG how ridiculous! That was hands down the best Marvel cartoon ever (IMO)! And with the lead up to AoA, I was soooo hyped! They even previewed characters of Season 2 in SDCC. Unbelievable!!
From wiki: Season 2 was in production, but has now been ceased. 26 new episodes were to have been aired and would have focused on the Age of Apocalypse storyline of the comics. At the end of season 1, we see Apocalypse entering a platform with Mister Sinister and Cyclops beside him. During Comic Con 2009, images of season 2 were shown, consisting of Colossus, Magik, Deadpool, Jubilee, and Havok. It was announced that these characters were to appear in season 2. Colossus was to get a reintroductory storyline and would have been a regular character in season 2.
On April 13, 2010, Comics Continuum reported that according to an inside source a second season of the series seems very unlikely.[2] On April 15, 2010, Marvel Animation Age confirmed the recent report that Wolverine and the X-Men will not be returning for a second season At C2E2, the Marvel animation panel consisting of Joe Quesada, Arune Singh, and Josh Fine stated that the reason for the cancellation is because they were unable to work out the financing for the show with their financing partner.
Two petitions have been made for the show's return, one of which is on PetitionSpot, and are currently being signed by over a 500 or more fans already. A third petition was also added on PetitionsOnline.com on April 17, 2010 proposing to save the show also.

Come on, I hope this doesn't actually happen, this show is so good and I've been waiting for the new season. I hope the issues are resolved because I wanted to see where the story goes. And yes, this is the best not only X-Men, but Marvel cartoon in a while, if not ever.

First the Spectacular Spider-Man and now this. You're killing me, Marvel! What's next? The SHS show? Let's hope not.

Truthfully, I wouldnt doubt it. Dont hold your breath for an SHS Show season 2 at this rate.
As far as I knew, Wolvie & Xmen AND Spec Spidey had good ratings, so it doesnt make any sense. Now I never really watched the Spidey show, but it looked real good. Marvel has been on a roll with these cartoons, and are now just abandoning them. For what, Worlds Mightiest: Avengers and an Ultimate Spidey cartoon? UGH! Just keep with what works.
