So I grabbed a pack of these the other day on a whim (plus I saw Green Goblin front and center and couldn't pass it up), but has anyone else bought any of the Handful of Heroes? Because these things are the biggest rip off ever. An 8-pack ranges from $6-$8! And I thought SHS was getting pricey. And I'm sure some people love seeing scales: But wow, I have no idea how Hasbro ever got this line approved. I reviewed a pack of them: jestergoblin.com/?p=8698

Yeah, they look like something you'd get in a Marvel theme birthday party goodie bag or out of a gumball machine.

These were on clearance at wm in my area for $1 and I still couldn't bring myself to buy them. I do like the scale next to MUSCLES.

I always just viewed them as army men-- except the problem was they tried to make them collectible-- there were 3 versions of each of the 40 characters in Wave 1, A solid color, a different translucent color and then a 3 which was transclucent (with glitter embeded).. I will admit- at least you could see most of what you were buying.. I picked up a pack to get Rhino-- and then grabbed a couple more for a 1.00 at clearance -- (sold most on ebay as singles-- some one actually paid 7.50 just for the solid color deadpool, I had also previously sold a doom for 5.00).

Yeah, at $1 a pack they'd be fine but I just have no idea how Hasbro thought they could sell them for so much originally.
They're basically super-high-end army men and that's not a market I thought even existed.

So it turns out Marvel Handful of Heroes figures are perfectly in scale with one of my favorite board games (and far cheaper than Heroclix minis). Does anyone have extras of these figures or have them on clearance at a store near them?
I know they've been out for years, but I wanted to check. I don't care about particular colors.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of some of these figures? I only collect Wolverine figures, so I don't need that many but it seems impossible to find any, even on Ebay!
