What were they planning?

Ok, I've been meaning to ask about this but thought it would be more interesting to discuss with the entire board.

I've noticed certain SHS figures come with a gripping hand, but have no accessory to accompany it. Spiderman was one of the first to receive the gripping hand, and I believe it was because he had a web accessory which was included in the Bank Heist playset back in the line's first days. As we know, accessories are scarce when dealing with SHS's, yet the grip hand has a tendency to come and go on occasion. Some examples are: Moon Knight, Abomination, and Hulk (the one in wave 6). I can't think of any more, but I know are some out there. I found it very odd.

Has anyone else stumbled upon this discovery? What are your thoughts on this?

Yes, I too have noticed this odd phenomenon. I don't know what's up with that, but it's welcome. The grip hand was a favorite of mine and takes me back to the Secret Wars days. As far as I know, you're right -- Bank Heist / "Gamma Lab" Spidey's web is the only SHS accessory that fits the hand. Wave 18 Spidey with the Scarlet Witch is essentially the same sculpt with etched rather than raised webbing, but his shield is glued in. Has anyone tried any other Hasbro accessories or weapons on the hand? Like say a GI Joe gun?

The 3 3/4 scale weapons are too skinny to fit into the hands of shs. I am glad I am not the only one who has wondered this. The only to scale accessories I have found that may fit would be the Mighty World accessories. I have yet to try them but have plenty I plan on using. I would think some playmobil accessories may fit as well.

When the GH cinema scene "Purchase of the Droids" was first displayed at TF or SDCC the Luke figure had a spanner or something as an accessory ... when the set came out he had nothing but his hand looked like it could grip .. I will see if I can find a pic
