So the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers line has finally been released! I don't know if other people here are LEGO collectors like myself, but I figure getting a license like the entire Marvel Universe might be a tipping point for some. First up is Captain America's Avenging Cycle! This set comes with Captain America, and two aliens! It is also the only way to get the Captain America minifigure. I've seen these at Target, Toys R Us and LEGO Stores.

Day two brings us two new Avengers - Iron Man Mark VI & Hawkeye! Plus Loki is included for maximum mayhem with the Cosmic Cube! Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=11653I was concerned about Iron Man initially since his head looked absolutely massive, but once I got him assembled I realized he actually looks pretty good - much better than Batman:

Target had had nothing. TRU had all but the Cosmic Cube (and that's the one the boys were going to pass on since those figs came in the other sets and "all that one had was a truck."

Aww, that's too bad! My Target had them with the Avengers stuff on an endcap, not in the LEGO area.
And there are two versions of Iron Man - Mark VI and VII!

I forgot to mention TRU also had the Wolverine, Deadpool, Magneto set. Ooo! What a great way for me to segue into today's review - Wolverine's Chopper Showdown! Now this pack is bound to be popular since it comes with three of the most well-known X-Men characters! Now if you like X-Men and like LEGO, you are going to want to pick this one up. Okay, now this is a set I have some issues with. Yes, Hulk and Thor are great. And the Easter Eggs in this set are excellent but... There is no way this is a Helicarrier! Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=11692

sheesh...had to google to figure out why Scott Summers was flying around in a SHIELD plane. I didn't realize Hawkeye had gone black for the movies. I guess Purple doesn't translate well on the big screen...
And yes, that is one lame excuse for a helicarrier. I'm really excited about these though. More so than the DC line. Definitely buying these (for my son).

So the boys had no problem creating regular SHEILD agents for the helicarrier but wanted a head for Nick Fury. Here's what I came up with... Attachments:

Oh man, you customize LEGO too?

I was working on customizing a SHS Hulk into Gorilla Man when my son showed me 3 SHEILD agents he'd created fir the helicarrier, one with a helmet for the jet. He had Nick's body but didn't have an African American head. Here I was painting so I did my first one.
I haven't really looked into the techniques Lego guys use, though I have seen some of the customized sticker applications they share. This one I just painted on and clear-coated.

The final set has been reviewed and it's the biggest - and possibly the biggest disappointment. With only Black Widow being new, everything else is a repack. Full review: jestergoblin.com/?p=11694
