Working on an Ant Man for the boy (since they are out of my price range on ebay). We're liking how this design is coming out. But i really want to complete the mouth piece. It is the flexible Imaginext plastic that they use for their armors. They need to be flexible in order to fit over the figure, and then hold on after wards. I fear my usual Milliput will just break off as soon as it flexes. I tried Molding Putty, but that wouldn't stay stuck the the piece. So, any thoughts?

Awesome customs DP&F........I've been busy with this 4th of July events
By the way...........HAPPY 4th !!!!!!
I like this custom idea but my question would be to you is...........why are you using ImagiNext figure ? (DC uses ImagiNext & Marvel uses Playskool.....different in sizes)
My suggestion is us a Playskool figure for 2x reason - after your done with this custom, he would be in "size" with the rest of the Marvel figures that are out......Antman shouldn't be TALLER than Ironman & Hulk
- if you use a Playskool figure, slipping on & off the ImagiNext cover would/should be easier..........throwing my $.02 in, I would use Doc Oct or Spider-Man as the base figure
Hope this helps & great job "little Deadpool"

Yeah, we're using it because it's what we have. it was left over from that plane i used for the Joker. And the helmet just worked almost perfectly. Honestly, it has been giving me a hard time with paints and i've been thinking on giving up on it. Except my son really wants an ant man. If i could, i would use the Movie version Wolverine and a cobra trooper head to make a movie version of the figure. I still might, but we also restructured our bank accounts, so now i need to check with the wife on any online purchases, and it is hard to convince her to let me get these figures for customs. she already thinks we have too many. So we're making do with what we already have. I just want to find a way to make the helmet look "right". Or at least passable.
And Happy 4th of July to you too!

@deadpool I have an extra Antman if you want to PM me to work out a trade? "Woohoo!" i yell all excited before running off to tell my son of the potential trade. "But dad, i'd rather have the cool one we're making. It's special." ...hard to argue with that heart melting goodness. Thanks though BigTp. I really appreciate the offer. On a side note, we just used milliput to complete that mask, and we'll hope that it doesn't break off. Also we've decided to go with the Marvel Now Scott Lang Costume instead of the classic. We'll have to start adding sculpt to the figure tonight.

That is 100% adorableness...You can't argue with that rationale. No reason why you can't have both though? It's here...I was holding onto him for a rainy day, so I will keep him on ice for ya if/when you want him.
I have given thought to making a Scott Lang Antman too...Have you considered Movie Cobra Commander for the head? I think he could work pretty well...just a thought.

I think i started this figure almost 2 years back. He was one of the 1st Deadpools i was planning on making. And i hated almost every minute of it. The design changed several times. Heads and limbs would constantly break off. I finally used some JB Weld, and that seems to have finally done the trick. Glad he is done. I never like Kyle Baker's art for the character (or much of his other work). It was just Deadpool with a Red flak jacket and helmet. Just to give it some color variation, i did a darker read for the jacket and helmet. And gave him black boots. I think mine looks better. And i just noticed some paint touch ups i missed. Like on his trigger finger.

That's what you call a labor of love! Looke really nice too.
Were you able to pry the helment off the CH figure, or did you have to dremel it out?
I have thought about using that head for customs in the past, but never got around to trying.
I was thinking about you the other day when I saw a pic of DP in a Sahara-desert kinda outfit. I couldn't figure out which comic it came from though to give you a reference. Does it sound familiar?

It does sound familiar. I'm just really behind on reading my DP comics so i'm not sure when/where it happens. But i'm saving an Indian Jones figure for it. They head is Bazooka's. I just dremeled off his mustache and spread milliput over it to smooth it out. Getting it onto Duke's body was a nightmare. I don't remember why it didn't work originally. I think it was the angle mixed with the bazooka pushing against it. Or they were both female... I wound up putting a screw into Bazooka's head but it didn't quite work. Then lots of Crazy and/or super glue. Still kept snapping off. Just the other day i was fixing something in the garage with JB Weld, and had some left over over so i decided to use it on his head. It stuck, and that's what got me off my butt to finish him. It might have been another 9 months before i got to him.

Soo many spider-man toys. Soo many different costume choices. And yet they are all a pain in the butt to make. This one i opted to fill in the webbing Milliput (couldn't get Mod podge to fill it in well enough). And it didn't even come out perfect. Even in this pictures i spotted some glaring imperfections that i have quickly fixed. I also used a paint on sealer for this one. Unfortunately it didn't work and i ruined a perfect paint job as i tried to reassemble him. The paint rubbed off in small parts, and that left grooves/folds in the finish. i wound up repainting most of him after i put him back together. ALSO, i was having trouble re-attaching his left arm, and i stupidly used a dremel bit to wedge open the hole. Which it then snapped off inside of him, and was shoved deeper in as i tried to get it out. I wound up having to JB weld that arm in place. But in the end i like how it came out and my son is excited. So we'll call it a win. Sorry for the poor image quality.

Boom Boom, Boomer, Meltdown. The only thing she has changed more then her name is her costume. But this one seemed easy enough. I'm still debating about Marvel Girls Psychic burst. Maybe shaving it down to look more like one of Meltdown's fire bomb things.

Niiiiice paint job, really like the color palette and detail work.
Small fine tuning like the sleeves and belt loops make all the difference.
The goggles turned out great too.
