Thanks a lot man! Total labor of love there I plan to have an area of my art space set up with all my props eventually, so in addition too finishing up my own trap, I also plan to work on a wall-mountable Containment Unit. Crazy? Yup. Worth it? Time will tell, but the giant nerd in me says HELL YEA. Heh.

Those WIP pics are crazy! Can't wait to see how the containment unit is going to look. I bet it'll be another mind-blowing piece of work. Keep it up!

Great stuff MutieJoe. The containment unit sounds awesome. I wonder if you could set it up to be functional, like a dvd/cd carousel inside so when you insert a trap, the dvd/cd falls into the trap for you to remove.

Aaaaaaaand...high time for an update, me thinks? Well, my SHS work has been slow, but I've been between projects. I have a couple of more biggies coming down the pipe, so stay tuned for more info! In the meantime, while there was a lull in my SHS customs, I set back to work on some prop building and, as promised, I finished my Ghostbusters Ghost trap that i was working on! Now, you'll note looking back at the previous page that there's already a trap in the mix. Well, as I mentioend before, that particular piece was done by my buddy Chris. It's a little rougher than mine, as it was a first attempt at that particular piece. I set out to take the blueprints he used, and ultimately refine the finished product. Unlike Chris' trap, mine doesn't have a stomp pedal just yet...that's really an entirely separate entity, which I'll do, but at a different time. While its construction is simpler, the parts are MUCH MUCH harder to acquire, and thus I'll need to take my time to gather the proper components. In the meantime, and while we're waiting on a SHS update, feel free to check out these pics of MY Ghost Trap, both in-progress and finished! Also of note: Though structurally finished, it's not 100% done. I'm in the process of rigging the trap with a functional blinking red LED module for the battery compartment (you can see the cover next to the toggle by the handle), as well as small lights for the forward indicator at the front. The trap also features movie-accurate warning/hazard labels and stickers, as well as all-metal wheel bearings on the bottom roller, so that once this thing's got a pedal it'll whiz across the floor just as it should. lso, the inner cartridge of the trap comes out of the casing, so when the containment unit is done it will actually fit inside, just like the real deal! So. Yea.That's what I've been up to. Aside from the Containment Unit (which is still in the concept stages), my next prop is a BIGGIE. It's not Ghostbusters related, but it is life sized...and this one's organic, not mechanical. I'll keep you guys posted Enjoy!

Hahahaha the trap prop is a million times better than the shoe box on a string I used to slide acros the house when I was a kid. This stuff is amazing. I must admit this thread has gotten me to go back and watch the movies again especially since the third movie is in the works.

There used to be this really cool customizer...Joe somethig or another...good guy, great talent. I think he fell off the face of the Earth cause we haven't heard from him in a good while. Or maybe he just hates us! Talent needs to be shared like a flower for all to appreciate, not hidden away in the back of a closet like the last piece of Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie you were hiding from your brother and forgot about until Mom made a new one for Christmas! Mmmmm...pie! What was I talking about again?!?
WHERE YOU BE AT MJ? "No more mutants" does not apply to you partner!

Joe is taking a short break while he recouperates. He's had it rough, health-wise, the past two months or so. It's really not my place to say anything, but he could use our thoughts and prayers. I figure he will make a triumphant return sooner or later. Just gotta be patient. :-)

Ive been SUCH a slacker about getting this pic up. (Sorry Joe) Anywayz, I got married back in Oct of last year and had Joe make a cake topper of my soon-to-be wife and I. And boy did he deliver! It was quite the hit. At any point in time there would be 2-3 people all up close to it taking a pic w/their camera phone. Hehehe.... I cant thank Joe enuff for his awesome work. Check it out: (The platform on the pic was made by me.)I love how she looks like shes abt to toss the bouquet and Im ready to deck someone. HA! If I stop being a slacker, i might be able to post some better pics so you can REALLY appreciate all the details of the dress (he duplicated her ACTUAL dress), veil, flowers, etc.....but dont hold your breath.

Thanks bud. Yeah, shes pretty cool. (But your girls pretty cool herself - she cutomizes!!) Anyway, it was one of the few things I actually had a say on wedding-wise, but she was ALL for it. For those that knew me well, they got the joke since they prolly have seen the 100 SHS figs I have on display @ the house. Those that didnt, thought it was a lil eccentric, but still thought it was awesome! I mean, who wouldn't - a wedding topper of a cartoon/toy version of ourselves? Joe outdid himself really.

Hey everyone! Figured I'd pop in and say howdy! I've been busily plugging away on the commission I've been doing for Sector (I got set back pretty severely when I was sick, but things are beginning to move smoothly now!). Thanks so much for posting that pic Alex (and congrats to you and the missus once again!), it looks like it worked out pretty well on top of that cake! I'd love to see more pics (heck, if/when you have a chance if you could send me a couple of full sized ones for my portfolio that'd be stellar! I'd really appreciate that, and it'd be a great thing to have reference pics of!). Thanks for all the kind words guys, and I'm sorry I haven't been around much. Sector's been super patient throughout my sick time, and I've just been making every effort to try and get his project moving at full steam so I can get the finished product to him. It's going well, and I'm hoping to have things in a place soon where I can actually start showing pics again! Thank you all so much for your patience and well wishes. I'll be back soon!
MJ
