Fan-Freakin'-TASTIC. Clocking in at 2 hours, IM had enough time to set up an origin story, develop and humanize ALL of the characters, have some epic fight scenes and get in plenty of nods to the comic. I Loved it and I'll even be as brazen as to say that I felt it was the best, most comic-accurate Comic Book film since the first Spider-man flick...only this one was even CLOSER to the mark, and the casting was better. Downey made a great stark, Howard made a great Rhodey, Paltrow totally made a hot ginger as Pepper Potts ( and she has the acting chops to boot!) and Jeff Bridges was decidedly un-Dude-like in the best possible way. Apparently shaving one's head makes them super intimidating!
The FX were amazing...I was shocked to see just how well the look of the armor translated from 2-d to 3-d and on the big screen. It looked flawless (Thank you Stan Winston, for making it all possible). Overall, if you're a marvel fan, or especially and Iron Man fan like myself...check it out! You'll dig it. Hell, it made me like Tony Stark again...something the comics haven't done for me in...oh...how long ago did Civil War debut? A couple of years, anyway?
My hat's off to the entire cast and crew. Mad props!

Lucky duck... I read the book cause I know I'll probably have to wait for the DVD or a good Screen rip on BT before I'll ever see it.
Congrats on the early viewing... I envy you much much... ;D

I saw it almost a month ago...don't know if the current edition of the movie has it, but after the credits, there was a scene with Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson)

Sorry. Credits are about 10 minutes long, so almost no one stayed. I only saw it because I was having a conversation with someone in the theater after it ended. I guess it could be spoilerish, but maybe without my comment, most people would not have stayed. It is only a few seconds long and pretty weak.

Also found this on wikipedia with no spoiler warning... "In the 2008 motion picture release of Iron Man Jackson played Fury in a post-credits scene. "

The scene wasn't attached to te screener I saw...unfortunately. I knew about it before hand so i stuck through the credits, but nada. the version we got was bare bones...no trailers, no bonus scene. But that's more than OK. I'm going to see it again this weekend. movie Kicked ass and the more I think about it, the more I feel it rival's spidey as the best Marvel flick done to date.

Well, it's the first in-house Marvel produced movie so I'd bet they have more control over things than they have in the past.

I thought it was the best comic movie ever. I know I can be seen as biased, bein a huge Iron Man fan in general - but Im also a big on X-Men and Silver Surfer, but I still give Stark the edge.

I bit-torrented a good copy from the Pirate Bay... I'll probably make the effort to see it in the theatre now. I'm sure it will be great on a big screen with huge HUGE sound. ;D
Having read the book before seeing the movie I was a little bothered by some of the things they changed up. Nothing terrible though.
