I've got a friend in the know (sorry, can't divulge) who says that the Galactic Heroes line of 2-packs is most likely cancelled. I was thinking about this a bit and when have we ever had the latest wave of a product out and not known what the next wave or two or three was going to be? We know that there are some vehicles coming, but Wave 19 of the two-packs has been out and about for awhile and I haven't heard of Wave 20 yet. Who do we have yet to produce in this line, Selacious Crumb? Maybe he is right....I hope not.

Ok, I'll comment. I agree with you. I think maybe they have pretty much run the gamut in regards to the figures.
Who else, by their standards, is there left to make? (I'm sure this forum could produce an extensive list)
That said, even if they stop the two packs, I hope they continue with 'Cinema Scene' style packs. They still have plenty of fodder left for vehicles and playsets.

Do you realize how many characters have been produced in the action figure line? If there's a universe to produce toys, it's Star Wars. I'd be really surprised if they decided to can the GH line. Just my thought. ^_^

Well, does anyone have any information at all about future waves? We can give at least one wave in advance in every other line except this one....

There was nothing new on display at the UK Toyfair other than the AT-AT. WHilst I doubt it is fully cancelled I perhaps wouldn't expect anything more than re-releases of existing product for the forseeable future.
The 3 3/4" line seemed to take dominance on their display this yearn with a Jabba set and a giant Turbotank.

Did this line ever wind up yielding an Admiral Ackbar? Just wondering...I mean...Maybe this line is cancelled...or maybe your friend is lying, JP and...IT'S A TRAP!!!!!!
But seriously. If this line ends and there hasn't been an Admiral Ackbar figure, that's just tragic. Tsk, tsk Hasbro..

Y'know... they could do a small Firefly line. I mean, Hasbro does own the Battlestar Galactica line after all... Nahh... not enough interest in that line I wasn't saying there weren't a pile more figures to produce, just that the mainstream (read; movie) ones, minus Akbar, have been mostly made. Hasbro is, afterall, all about marketing the most recognizable names. But that said, I do believe we've had more Spidey repaints and resculpts that we've had Luke repaints/resculpts... but I may be wrong...

Spider-Man is so much more popular than Luke though, especially with younger demographics. Hell, Spider-Man is something like the 3rd most recognized fictional character behind Superman and Mickey Mouse.

Well, Ackbar came out as one of the first 30 or so Star Wars Mighty Muggs figs...and since I have about 400 different Galactic Heroes, Ackbar's time has maybe passed us by? There are a lot of other characters in Star Wars yet to be tapped, but it seems as though that engine isn't running any longer for Hasbro. Who knows....

I doubt they are cancelled. We didn't know of any upcoming 2-packs for Superhero Squad until just last week with UK Toy Fair. I just think we are in the toy news lull just before US Toy Fair.
It seems like to me Hasbro was just saving room in a limited space in UK Toy Fair. I'm betting GI Joe and Transformers were the bulk of their display space. That and they save the "real good stuff" for US toy fair.

And I can't imagine them cancelling it now that there's a weekly Star Wars show on TV. Maybe the line will take a rest for awhile with repacks but they haven't even come close to putting out as many GH as they've done figures in the 3.75 line...granted a lot of those are obscure, collector aimed figures. And maybe that's why we're getting things like the Rancor and the AT-AT is that the line needs something new to keep it alive for now.

Sadly the Joe room was closed due to that leak, so i never saw it and can't even comment if Combat Heroes were inside. They had a shed load of SHS and Wolverine SHS stuff though. SW was just more focused on the 3 3/4" line. Did this line ever wind up yielding an Admiral Ackbar?
