Ok, so GH it is. They are too awesome not to collect. I know I have a very late start, but any1 have any advice on how I should tackle this? Perhaps start with some of the Cinema Scenes maybe? I saw a Hoth set and Cantina band the other day.
Mind u, I do tend to open them AND (I restate) dont care for variant/repaints/resculpts. So I dont need 10 Darth Vaders.
Anyone?

I thought abt loose lots, but dont u think it would get hard to catalogue that way? Especially if Im tryin to avoid dupes. I mean if a Luke is sold in that lot but the guy he came with doesnt, then Id end up buyin another of the same Luke.

Yes, if you went after the cinema scenes you would have a great collection. The problem is that you'd have to go ebay for the original four sets, I don't see those around often.

If you go with loose lots you're bound to have some dupes. Which you might be able to trade/sell/dump on someone at this very forum.
Cinema scenes are a good way to get the main characters but the older ones will be harder to find and/or cost more.

Thnx guys. I picked up the Hoth set the other day. Its awesome. Im gettin a list goin to help myself but I think these scenes are a good way to start.
Has the Jabba Scene come and gone already? I see its real pricey.

Head out to Target now! They currently have the Endor/Speeder Bike set and the Mustafar fight set. With the cinema scenes for Endor, Hoth, and Naboo, you can really get at the older "rare" Playskool sets. Good luck!

I wish. My Target sux. Ive been to 3 around here w/in the last few days and nuthin. NO cinema scenes.

Ok, so Ive officially started my collection. Im tryin to not have too many dupes and Ill even pass on some repaints. I figured the best way to go was cinema scenes 1st, then fill in the gaps. I got Hoth, Naboo, Cantina Band and Endor. I saw Mustafar but passed on it for now cuz I wasnt impressed. Now, on to the rarer ones....wish me luck.  |
