Hi everyone! It's been a while! I was in my local Target today and I spotted some Iron Man 3 stuff on the shelf . It was just a single case worth of larger-sized figures (no SHS ), but I was surprised to see this stuff out so early - I'm sure they ignored whatever street date hasbro has set for the Iron Man 3 stuff. Anyway, this got me excited for the Iron Man 3 SHS packs we were promised in an earlier report. When I got home I did some searching and was surprised to find that BBTS has up a pre-order for Iron Man 3 Super Hero Squad Series 01 which apparently features two different box-sets featured at a $15.99 price point (though BBTS generally jacks up their prices. It should probably be quite a bit less at retail). Estimated to ship sometime in February. So my question is this - how many figures can we expect in the new "boxset" packaging and what will the overall retail price point look like. Oh, and when can we expect to see these figures on store shelves. I guess thats 3 questions

i don't care what they cost. It's been so long I'll pay anything to get my fix.

I would guess two 3-packs like the Spider-Man and Avengers movie tie-ins. Possibilities: mach viii armor, Mandarin, Iron Patriot (James Rhodes), and battle damaged Iron Man, Fire Power, Wasp

As for the other two questions, price point probably more like Avengers $12 (Marvel Studios as opposed to $10 Sony Spider-Man licensed 3-pack). And probably released late February or March, sometime not too far after Toy Fair (February 10-13).

Yeah, I think so too.
Perhaps they are 3-packs and the new packaging is similar to the SDCC exclusive we got some time ago... That would actually be pretty cool.
Anyway, I hope we get at least some good figures out of it if there are only going to be 6 figures in the first wave.

Okay, I've had some time to think about these and while they are kind of cheap, you have to remember how long ago the original Iron Man SHS figures came out.
I mean, SHS debuted seven years ago. Kids who grew up on the first wave are now 11. And the original Iron Man movie came out five years ago! There are kids who have probably grown up with the movie and this might be the first time they're able to get an Iron Monger or movie version besides the Avengers packs.
For collectors, these are huge disappointments but for people looking for toys based off Iron Man and Iron Man II for younger kids, they aren't completely awful. At least they're repainted, right?

I was afraid something like this would happen... Anyway, its not all bad. That Iron Monger looks pretty good and I dig the new packaging. There very well could be future waves too. If these sell well it could lead to a revival of the main SHS line (perhaps in similar packaging). Any pics showing the back of the cards?
I do have to say, however, that this was a missed opportunity with the drones. IM2 featured at least a few other drone types that followed the look of the other drone sculpt. With a little retooling we could have got Ground, Air, and Sea assault drones.

Has anybody noticed the first set has all characters/ armors from iron man. The second has all characters from iron man 2. And disnt they say there were going to be 3 sets? So hopefully that follows the pattern and is iron man 3 characters and hopefully some new sculpts and figures

My Guess: Iron Man, War Machine with patriot paint job and a Mandarin repaint.
My Hopes: Radioactive Man, Firepower and Pepper in civilian clothes. Because the chances of a 3-pack with no major characters is so likely...
