Washes and drybrushing work with any number of colors to make the sculpt of something pop. Black is the most common wash simply because it makes things look dirty, worn out, or battle damaged.

I've printed this page and added it to my "customizing notes" folder! Thanks for all the hints. Can't wait to get started now. Someone mentioned here somewhere about doing an undercoat of black or white, depending on the top coat shade. How often do you think that is necessary? And do you do any type of surface prep...like sanding?
