it looks like my son is growing out of the GH and SHS phase and wanting action figures for X-mas, but I already have 7 cinema scenes stashed for X-mas as well as a bunch of SHS stuff.
I've thought about eBay, but I'm not sure the collector in me really wants to part with them. I know he'd still like them, but I KNOW he would enjoy the new 2 1/2 foot Millenium Falcon that he's begging for even more.
Didn't see this coming.....they grow up so fast!!!

Thankfully my son hasn't hit that phase yet. I doubt he will lose interest in collecting when he is done playing with them though. he kept the shs easter egg packs unopened as collectables
only seven cinema sets... which one didn't you get? i have 8 stashed and a darth vader tie fighter for me.

Why not just give him what you got?
I'm not sure how to say this without sounding judgmental or condescending, but I'm having a hard time understanding the situation.
When I was a kid, my brother and I had maybe a dozen odd GI Joe figures and about ten transformers. The concept of completely collecting an entire line of toys was inconceivable. We knew one or two other kids who had a gazillion toys but even we, as kids, thought they were spoiled.
I hear you saying that you're thinking about redoing what already sounds like an incredible hoard of gifts. It just seems incredible to me that you would go so far out of your way to please your son.
But I honestly want to hear your and others' feedback. I'm thinking about starting a family soon, and these kind of issues greatly concern me. At times I feel so disconnected with kids today.
I apologize if I am coming off as judgmental.

b3n4- I have the two cantina sets, the lava set, vader tie fighter, jedi starfighter, skiff set and the arena set. He already got the endor and rancor sets. I believe that he has gotten about every cinema set that has come out.
gambit293- This really isn't going out of my way, it's for my son and that makes it worth it. I try not to spoil him and try to teach him the value of what he has- all though I think it's hard for a 5 year old to understand. I'm sure he'd still be happy with the GH/ SHS "haul" but I know that he REALLY wants the new Millenium Falcon and I'd like to get it for him. I guess I'm just kicking myself and venting for my "premature" purchases (some of these sets were bought 6-8 months ago and have sit in a hiding place waiting for his birthday and X-mas).
At least now I know to switch gears from here on forward and I'll stop collecting the GH/ SHS line. Although I'll collect the Combat Hero line for myself, lol.

Speaking as a Dad, half of the reason why my son loves the toys I do is because I love them, not because of his own individual interest. If I show interest in something new, so does he.....usually.

Same here...i have been collecting these guys since day one. I don't open them, and my four kids have to suffer because they so desperately want me to open them for them.....i have to keep reminding them that these are "daddy's" toys and i don't open them.....lol So they get packs for themselves....i'm 35 and i have more toys now then they do !!! it's awesome..... sounds like you are missing the tatooine/dewback set, the kashyyk wookie set (toysrus only), and the xwing/dagobah set.

Nope, I have those- except the x-wing Dagobah set (didn't feel like dropping $20-25 on what is essentially a repaint of a vehicle plus a swamp dragon or whatever it is).
Good news tonight, we asked him to make a list of the top ten things he wanted for B-day and X-mas (they're close) and he did include a couple GH things (Vader Tie-Fighter and Jedi Star Fighter).
Also, Just ordered the MF (you decide what that really stands for, lol) from HTS. $10 price drop and 20% off plus free shipping ($120 total). I'm done B-Day and X-mas shoping for my son.
