I just hope SHS continues in more froms than just 3 packs

What a sad day!
The only up side is these new vehicles may be a lot like imaginext style which I am gethering to one day do vehicle customs for my combat heroes. 2 if they are to scale I finally will ahve a landspeeder for my gh.
I do love the hydra viper but am sickened by the skaar repaint.

wow, if you thought my earlier posts in this thread were slightly grumpy, Imagine how I am feeling now. I have just spent an hour trying to make my kid stop crying. I showed him the toyfair pics and told him that they were the new toys coming out this year. lets just say his reaction was not positive. when I told him there were not going to be any more gh and shs he started crying. I had to lie to my son and say 'I think so" when he asked if he was still going to be able to get herbie to fly his helicarrier. He is eight years old, these toys have been his favorites for most of his young life. when we saw the first waves of galactic heroes two packs at walmart, he grabbed them and hugged them. that christmas after the first wave of galactic heroes were out we gave him the playskool sets and my sister got him the wave of two packs with the bounty hunters. he kept them all in a plastic toolbox and would take them with him everywhere he went. we were both very excited when we saw pics from sdcc of the first wave of shs. for the next six months he asked me all the time when we could get them. I can't express how relieved I was when my wife called me from toysrus less than a week before christmas to tell me she found not four, but eight packs of "those superhero guys that benjamin keeps asking about". he screamed like the kid who got the nintendo64 for xmas when he opened the 2 waves of shs. I have told him most of the greatest stories in the marvel universe by telling him about the characters. with only two exceptions, I can honestly say that he has every toy in the heroes line that has hit the shelves of walmart, target, and toysrus. we have it all. combat heroes, robot heroes, adventure heroes (except the last wave which we searched high and low for), we have them all. we even have the totally stupid galactic heroes "landspeeder" and "x-wing racer". we have every issue of the shs comic book,a shs backpack that he wore to school every day of first grade. he is right now laying on the shs sheet set, under his shs blanket. he doesn't like going to our local walmart because they don't have shs on the pegs. sure he has other toys, legos, pokemon, bakugan, but he has always looked for heroes first whenever he walked into a toy section. du5tin.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=downloadattachment&board=news&thread=2105&post=23877&key=qJzaVG44EY262TstdmOdhere is the pic that says it all, he didn't go to new york comicon to see stan lee, or to find a copy of any comic book, he went to see the toys. I think I have rambled on enough that you guys should get the point. some marketing schmuck has broken my kids heart today. what was great excitement about toyfair has turned into a funeral. does anyone have a snail mail address for somebody relevant at hasbro? I feel the need to send a letter to whom it may concern and let them know what one of their biggest fans thinks of this new direction.

SHS is still going to be produced, but it's distressing to see some of the playsets and vehicles from SHS being repurposed for this new line. Personally, I don't like them. There's not much variety in terms of poses. I like the different poses of the SHS line. They only RECENTLY started breaking away from the traditional GH pose and now the line is cancelled. Very bummed about that.
Here's hoping Quesada's pet project, the Superhero Squad will stay strong. Considering that he's the head honcho at Marvel and he loves SHS, I still have faith that we'll see future waves. Hasbro just has to stop releasing the same characters over and over again.

I will be collecting the new lines.. they've grown on me.. any way has anybody noticed how playskool uses galactic heroes type figures... like the mold in this playset.. www.rebelscum.com/tf2011/Hasbro_Star_Wars/image161.asp

Wow, I was wrong earlier. Hasbro has really managed to dissappoint all of us once again. I was really looking forward to seeing some fun new stuff here, instead, i'm now basically prepared for the line to be discontinued.
what a really crappy feeling to wake up to on a sunday morning. And now i'm going to work. Life sucks sometimes.

That HYDRA Soldier sure looks familiar!
I wonder if there will be any movie versions of the soldier.
vegeta: where did you see a reference to a Hydra 4-pack?
doc: where did you see a Hydra Viper?

Sorry I am a joe collector and most cobra soldiers are referred to as Vipers. My slip I meant Hydra Soldier. Though a combin customizing.at hero Hydra Viper would be bad ace and one I am particularly stuck on

this really doesn't make sense. when other companies start imitating your product, that means that you are doing something right. look at the toy story buddies, wwe, batman, power rangers, scooby doo, and even doctor who lines of toys that are made to scale, and in a similar style with the heroes. other companies are trying to piggyback on the success of the line. why throw away seven years of cool toys that kids have loved?
why start imitating the imaginext figures? are the figures what make the imaginext toys cool? hell no, it is the awesome playsets that make them great. the figures suck, but that batcave is a much better playset than the bank heist/gamma lab, or all four popup playsets. i originally thought it was strange seeing my sons marvel shs or galactic heroes playing in the batcave, but it is a great playset, and that is the draw of imaginext toys, not the figures. if hasbro wants to imitate imaginext then they should keep the figures the same, and give them great accessories and playsets, instead of convertible landspeeder/sandcrawler garbage and cars for superheroes that can fly.
it just doesn't make sense.
edit: forgot to add the power rangers to the list of hero clones. edit2: added scooby doo

From a business standpoint, I can see they would not want to look like everything else...like all the imitators. They would want their product to stand-out.
Looks like some of the stuff might be compatible for custom fodder for body parts though.
And I'd be happy with 3-packs, as long as we don't have to buy 3 to get 1 new figure/character. But even that is doubtful seeing the latest Thor/IM sets.
I'm okay with Sif/Frost Giant re-paint just not sure why they bothered to make a smaller FG.

I wish we had someone on the boards attend the ToyFare. I don't like hearing that SHS 2 packs will be phased out, but it sounds like somebody is misinformed. b3n4.....are you planning to call Hasbro? If so, see if you can find out what the low-down is regarding SHS 2-packs. I hate to say it, but this might be the dawn of the age of customizers. I wish atgscl hadn't screwed us all over and succeeded in making cutoms and casts for new figs. That would have helped us all out!
Really REALLY hate those "imaginext knockoffs" Hasbro is pushing now. It's true that Imaginext's playsets are the selling point....NOT the figures. Hasbro clearly shot themselves in the foot on this.

these new figures also look like a scaled down version of toybiz's (very successful) spidey and friends 6inch figures. when hasbro got the marvel license they could have continued the line, but they made one half assed wave, that was nowhere near as cool, and then gave up. is there really any reason that the hasbro heroes and playskool lines can't coexist? I plan on sending someone at hasbro a well thought out letter. if I called them on the phone there would be a much bigger chance of me using the word f--kface to describe someone, and that would probably be counterproductive. are there any other negative reviews online like the one I quoted above? if you see one, add it to this thread. hasbro knows about this forum. someone has to be reading our posts on this, I don't think it is too late to reverse a bad decision.
