So i've been working on doing some molds, so i figured i'd post some of my progress and tips. Send me a message if you want to me try and mask a resin cast of something. I don't have all the figures, but quite a lot. have you guys looked into using something like this?? if you create the mold, I'm sure this plastic stuff will work... it'll give you a transparent material for someone like ice-man or someone invisible??

Except all the bubbles would mess up the detail. The other issues is that he heats it inside the mold by putting the mold in an oven. my molds are silicone which i sassume wouldn't hold up well in an over (not sure because i'm not a chemist.) Though i greatly appreciate you keeping an eye out for stuff that would making molding/casting easier/faster/cheaper. Who knows, if we can find something that works, then maybe we can make some casts of those harder to find figures.

gotcha...yeah, I didn't think there would be that many bubbles at that scale, but who knows...and I didn't realize your molds were in silicone...

OK, so I hate posting pics to the forum because the process is so tedious. Does anyone have a more efficient method than:
1. Take pic on wife's smartphone. (Mine is old school...I call people with it.) 2. Email pic to my yahoo account. 3. Download pic to laptop. 4. Upload pic to photobucket.com 5. Re-size pic in photobucket.com...can't "replace original" because this always seems to get screwed up, so I have to save as a new file and use the re-sized file in the forum. 6. Copy/paste link to forum. 7. Glue hair back to head that I pulled out getting frustrated with process. 8. Wait for affirmation from my buddies about my custom so I don't feel that this was a complete waste of time.

.....not sure if mine is any easier but here we go
1: Take pic w/camera 2: upload to laptop 3: open in paint 4: resize/crop .....save 5: upload to imuz 6: post link to HHF
.......yes it's a pain but I like sharing my work
BUT now that I've created a new design layout for my customs
1: Take pic w/camera 2: upload to laptop 3: open in paint 4: resize/crop .....save 5: open up pre-design layout in PowerPoint 6: move pics to PPT 7: copy design and open up Paint again 8: paste and resize again 9: upload to imuz 10: post link to HHF
Think I have you beat now..........yah for me

But you can try this and it should cut out some steps. First have you wife download the phone app Instagram. it's free. once you do that, the process will look like: 1. Take picture using instagram. 2. Access you instagram account via your laptop. 3. right click the picture and select "view background Image" 4. right click the image again and select "Copy image location" 5. Post it over hear so that we may ridicule it mercilessly, all while being super jealous because you beat us to it, or did it better then us. I just tried it for the first time. Here is the image of my son's room that i just took. I didn't need to resize it or anything.

I haven't used it in a LONG time but there used to be a free program I used called XNView. It was great for cropping and resizing pictures and there wasn't nearly the quality loss from MSPaint.
Though I haven't had to resize any of my pictures on this forum or CustomJustice. It seems to take care of it for me! There is a bit of code on CJ that limits the size of the size of the images that I have to remove when I copy it here!

I use XNView for some of my image editing for my yotube series. It's great for making large groups of pictures have transparent backgrounds. I haven't used it for resizing though. I may have to try that.

Geezlouise! I was hoping someone would have a "wave your magic wand" kinda option where the camera loads it to the Forum, fixes all the paint flaws I missed (to avoid DPs ridicule), purchases replacement fodder for the figure I just made then realized I could have made someone totally cooler, and automatically sends positive eBay feedback to the Seller.
Bill Gates, I'm looking at you!!

And how come my Dad didn't collect cool toys with me when I was a kid!!
All the guy did was work 60+ a week, put food on the table, take me to baseball practice, umpire my little Little League games, never (and I mean NEVER!) let me get a Base-on-Balls because he didn't want to seem impartial, teach me work ethic through example, and whip my butt when I was a total pain in the @ss!
PS - Love you Dad!

Yeah, use to upload directly to this site, but it filled up its quota. Now we have to use these workarounds; I use flickr.

just curious, why do you guys need to resize and crop??
also, fb, can you just upload the pic to photobucket from the phone?? that will save you a step or so

images larger the 950 pixels in any direction, have a bad habit of not showing up in the posts.

If you have an Android phone you can use the free Imgur app so that it's only 3 steps:
1) Take picture with your Android phone 2) Use Imgur phone app to upload picture to your Imgur account 3) Paste Imgur URL to Hasbro Heroes Forum.
Just 3 steps...
